The Mini is getting new rotors, stainless steel brake lines, and Hawk HP+ brake pads! Plus $100 in lunch money for using the coupon for taking part in the track night that resulted in me needing new brakes in the first place! So much for my first paycheck from the new job.
My dad and I brought his BRZ and my MINI to Thompson for an SCCA Track Night in America event today. Fun times were had and my brake fluid was properly boiled (seriously, my brakes now need to be bled so bad you can hear it squidging when you touch the pedal). Sadly, no on track SR20 until the track photographers…
Patched up the area the tape took off and she’s good to go. The paint that has gotten sunlight seems to be fading to match the existing paint nicely.
With the exception of that area by the tail of the P which came off with the tape. I’m going to try patching that area up tomorrow once I know the paint is 100% cured enough that I can put tape on it.
Clear coat will go on tomorrow morning after Monaco. Not to bad for my first paint job if I do say so myself.
So the Mini has begun to develop a small bit of rust on the bottom of the drivers door. Nothing major but it bugs me none the less. I would like to sand it back and then paint it so that it looks good from a few feet back and isn’t going to spread further.
I wonder how much it costs to replace that windshield.
Not really. But at least I only got cooked to a nice medium rare in the sun by using it instead of the black suit.
500tw Hankooks aren’t too happy when you autocross them. The Mini will still tripod even in the damp though.
Podracer (did anyone ever refer to this by its official name?) is now on GoG as of yesterday. The people at GoG have tweaked the game files so you can now run this amazing game on modern PCs and at high resolutions. Now I just need a USB N64 controller to complete the experience...

Back in the day I used to spend hours on Forza 4, desperately trying to break into the 6:30s with the prototypes. In Forza 7 breaking the 6:00 barrier is nothing. 5:49.059 with a somewhat sloppy lap, just a bit tidier and I think I could pull off a low 5:47.
No front brakes on the new Megane? EDIT: Apparently the Megane runs inboard brakes at all 4 corners.
Or a smaller steering wheel. Ferrari F-158, Forza 7.
But the Countryman S still gets a thumbs up from me.
One for most of the scrolling and another for the final 5 pixels. In other news the video now scales with window size, allowing me to simply snap it to the side and not have to adjust the window to see the entire video.
Just park on the sidewalk in front of the doors to move back in after break. I see no problem with that.
