In September I’m taking this thing on a road rally with Mum as my codriver, so today she told me to take her for a drive for about 4 hours.
On the same day that Dad put a deposit down on something to replace his Peugeot.
Out and about late at night driving around with 2 MX-6's, a Lantis Type R and a couple of skylines..
This seems like a brilliantly bad idea.. I want to see this thing either as an offroad racer or mental track car.
This is the other side of Skyline culture, the one that isn’t on Instagram or in magazines. It’s a far cry from the GTR’s, and the many hundreds of horsepower, and the two-thousand dollar wheels. This is low budget fun for a couple of young guys with living projects that evolve on a weekly basis.
Picked up a set of MS01's on Wednesday, the one piece forged ones. Came as standard on the Mazdaspeed MX6, so going back onto one is fitting. Fitment is almost perfect and made better with 5mm spacers all round. Unfortunately I don’t have the center caps, and they need new stickers but that can be fixed in time.
What a great way to spend a friday night. Twin turbo RX7 and an R32 GTR. Did some nice twisty roads and both cars performed great, had fun watching flames from the back of the GTR and sparks from its exhaust touching the ground on larger bumps.
However roof racks probably aren’t supposed to go on sports cars.
When they are in 17", 5x114.3 and are on my Mazda.
Got some tyres swapped over, now the MX6 is running RE003's on the front and RE002's on the rear in 215/45/R17. Really liking the fitment with the new 17's.
Late night things
Yes it does.
While the MX-6 is out of action, I managed to borrow my friend’s old car. His old car happens to be this.
Well... There’s a few things. If someone gives me a basic format to work off of I will gladly do an Oppo Review on a 2004 Audi Allroad V8!
I have a 1970 Triumph 2000 MK2. Nobody in the country is selling carbs for it, its $500 per unit to get someone to rebuild them properly from scratch and $6oo plus shipping to send the pair to the UK and get a refurbed set back.
The V8 Ute series. It’s argie bargie and often very sideways. Spec cars that are almost straight road cars, with exhaust, suspension and minor power mods. The parity between Ford and Holden is very close.
They can look pretty good, y’know.
I haven’t even gotten it off the camera yet, but I turned around in the passengers seat with the camera and grabbed a great shot with the totally wrong lens.
I want it so bad. At the moment I have essentially a 4 spoke version of this:
