Beautiful day for some cruising and disc golf Beautiful day for some cruising and disc golf

Went out on a drive to check out the #1 disc golf course in the state of Texas according to disc golf scene. This was also a good excuse to drive the Challenger rental a bit and see how I like it. Being mostly highway between Dallas and Waco, I actually managed to average about 23mpg which is generally better than my…

Many tires and cones will be slain. Many tires and cones will be slain.

Knowing how much of a boat this car is and the fact that it does burnouts at every traffic light without effort, I think it will be terrifyingly great at this upcoming autocross on Sunday!

Went for a hike in the desert  Went for a hike in the desert

I’m in the Mojave desert and got out of work early so I figured it was time for a quick hike. I hiked up a trail to Five Fingers Peak which was about 2.5 miles round trip and 1300 or so feet of elevation gain. So a quick 1.5 hour jaunt including some time for taking in the views at the top and trying to get some…

Technically not wrong Technically not wrong

I think this is the only time I've seen something posted to r/funny and actually laughed. I really want to do this now also haha.

Beauty in Destruction Beauty in Destruction

Yesterday, I took a hike through Malibu Creek State Park, one of the hard hit areas from the Woolsey Fire this past November. I wanted to enjoy the beautifully clear day, get some ocean views, and get some contrasting views of the burnt landscape throughout the area. It was beautiful in a way, even with the obvious…

Lovely day for a drive Lovely day for a drive

This morning I took a nice hike to check out some burn areas in Malibu from the Woolsey Fire. Since it was so nice out by the end of my hike, I figured I had to take a drive. I was nearby Piuma road, which is one of my favorites, so I headed there and enjoyed a scenic cruise for a bit. I was chased down by a McLaren…

Snowmageddon: Los Angeles Snowmageddon: Los Angeles

Putting snow and Los Angeles in the same sentence is certainly a bit of an oxymoron but this winter has been wild. And I am not really talking about LA but the surrounding areas anyways. Right now I-5 and I-15 (sorry I mean THE 5 and THE 15, gotta speak the lingo) are closed in two high elevation areas due to winter…

Broken Miata ramblings Broken Miata ramblings

Greetings, and welcome to my evergrowing dilemma of what the hell I am doing with my broken Miata. Since my shopping plans have continued to fall through and I havent yet bought another Miata, I have instead started planning what I want to do with my current car. As is, it just sits in my garage at home and I have…

My bus for the weekend My bus for the weekend

The Yukon I rented has comfortably fit all 6 of us and the mountain of luggage in the trunk. We have made it to San Diego and are enjoying the mold weather with thankfully little rain so far.

4000 mile road trip complete, the Epilogue 4000 mile road trip complete, the Epilogue

While I have posted quite a bit to PowderForward regarding my recent ski trip, I have been leaving out the huge driving portion of this road trip. Considering it was 3 weeks of driving this car around just a tad over 4000 miles in total, I would say that this was quite the epic road trip.

Something about this cold snowy weather lol Something about this cold snowy weather lol

Everybody seems to be posting about winter weather going on at home. Well I'm home from my winter adventure so I'm back to some nice Socal "winter". It's like 48F right now here in San Diego and I've got a great sunrise to enjoy my expensive breakfast. Life is hard.

160k milestone!  160k milestone!

Took this picture on my last day in Salt Lake City before heading home to Los Angeles. Seeing as I bought the car with 136k on it in late 2017, I have definitely driven the car quite a bit. Made it home and the car is now sitting around 161k and faced zero issues over the 4000 miles driven on the trip. I’ve added two…

'18/'19 Ski Blog (Post #10) - Alta, UT  '18/'19 Ski Blog (Post #10) - Alta, UT

It snowed so much at Alta that I almost thought it was too much! As a final conclusion to my three week long trip, my friend and I spent another two days in Utah in order to hit Alta after a serious storm had rolled through, dropping more than 50 inches of snow in 48 hours. While there, we also met up with a fellow…

'18/'19 Ski Blog (Post #9) - Big Sky, MT '18/'19 Ski Blog (Post #9) - Big Sky, MT

It snowed so hard almost the entire time I was in Montana so it’s not like I could really take any photos. Plus I was too busy enjoying skiing that powder. But there was a small window of visibility as I was walking away at the end of the day where I could see the top of Lone Peak from the base area. But anyways, the…

Snow on my very dirty car in Montana Snow on my very dirty car in Montana

I have just accepted the reality that my car will not be clean this week. I washed it in Idaho on my drive from Jackson just to get the salt mounds off the bottom of the car. But then it’s been snowing a bunch here this week in Montana. This is great for the skiing but unfortunate for the car. It’s been much warmer…

'18/'19 Ski Blog (Post #8) - Jackson Hole, WY '18/'19 Ski Blog (Post #8) - Jackson Hole, WY

Today is the last morning here in Wyoming before heading out to Montana. It was a nice long stay here, having arrived Saturday evening and skiing 4 days with a rest day in the middle. I didn’t get any powder days but there was still plenty of fresh snow to find in the woods and an extreme amount of terrain to explore…

'18/'19 Ski Blog (Post #7) - Solitude and Alta, UT '18/'19 Ski Blog (Post #7) - Solitude and Alta, UT

This was an amazing experience of some quality Utah skiing. I spent two days at Solitude and then one at Alta. All three days were wall to wall, open to close, powder-fests. I had originally planned on skiing a fourth day here in Utah but my body is feeling the effects of that much powder skiing so I have decided a…

Ready for a rest day tomorrow in SLC  Ready for a rest day tomorrow in SLC

While this week was supposed to be an easy start to my skiing trip, has turned into 3 nonstop powder days right off the bat. This has of course been very punishing on my body but it was oh so worth it. I had originally planned on skiing Friday but will now take the day off to rest. Saturday is a non ski day but I am…

And here I was thinking this trip couldn't get better.  And here I was thinking this trip couldn't get better.

POWDER DAY AT ALTA. THE STOKE IS REAL.

Amazing untracked bliss Amazing untracked bliss

Today, I didn’t think I’d have much luck in finding untracked powder seeing as its now two days after the storm. Well another section, Highway to Heaven, opened up and it was completely untracked! It was nice and steep and wide open with just knee deep powder the whole way down. Unfortunately you have to hike up at…
