Saturday in Texas was cold and wet. Thankfully it stopped raining on my on my way from Austin down to San Antonio, but the temps were in the 40's all morning.
I work in Information Technology, supervising the overnight shift. We handle anything and everything that may come along from 7pm to 7am for company employees and customers. Not telling the company though.
Pic of sexy blue boostang as a buffer for my rant...
As apparently one of the older Oppos here, I have had quite a few cars, and my timeline seems to start earlier than most I’ve looked at... (listed in order of purchase)
I woke up this afternoon to two messages on my phone from people calling in sick to work tonight. My thought processes just told me to head in to work a little early to make sure that the rest of us would be good to go for the night before the day shift left.
Sunday morning was chilly and rainy in the middle of Texas, but that wasn’t going to stop me. I was going out racing. It was the Austin Spokes autocross #12 for 2018 and while I didn’t need the points to secure my spot for year end trophies, I was going to have some fun anyway.
Saturday was the San Antonio Sports Car Association’s 11th autocross event of the year. Due to STP being a dying class (seriously the SCCA is killing it at the end of the year) I was the only participant in class and thus was in 1st place.
And glad I don’t have a spare 8 grand in my pocket.
This was my final run of the day, until a corner worker screwed it up....
I hit up Equipe Rapide in Grand Prairie, TX, on Sunday for a good day of terrorizing cones. I took second in class, but only lost by 0.14 seconds.
Late Model Restoration (www.lmr.com) hosted a big Mustang/Lightning meet at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis, TX this past Saturday. I’m just slow in reporting on it. A good time was had by all.
Nothing to see here... Move along...
This is my dog Skye. She’s the Kinja safety image I’m going to post before a long story involving my kids and a bunch of stupid teenage drama.
Autocross setup buffer image from last weekend for the continued drama below. Yes, I really do sticker up my car for events and then clean it up after. I bought a roll of magnetic sheeting from Amazon and have been making my own out of available stickers...
