How’s Oppo doing?
I’ve been grappling with replacing my turbo beetle with something that preferably accomplishes two things; something more practical and preferably an automatic. But I also really don’t want to spend much money as any car I get will probably only be driven 1,000-5,000miles a year and mostly when my alley is too rutted…
My wife was hit by a lady yesterday; low speed t bone. Her and my daughter so far seem fine thankfully. The person who hit them? She was a real piece of work. Expired license, expired tabs, and her insurance card said expired (but she insisted it was up to date).
Well folks; reasonable mileage S4s with the 3.0 engine can now be had for $15,000. I still may decide to just sell the Beetle and not replace it. But if I do; I think I’m going to go with one of these:
Well, I got my 996 out last night after dinner while my wife and daughter went to go Pokémon-ing. It fired right up; and I pulled away. 1 minute into the drive the idle goes super erratic and then boom ABS/PSM lights; which are a signal for MAF being disabled and going to stock fuel maps.
That my alley is melted off enough to actually get my 996 out on the streets. My one biggest regret about choosing to live in the city is that the alleyways are so poorly maintained in the winter that it’s tough to take my car out. And my garage is on the alley. I haven’t had it out since early January.
Audi released the newer A3 with two options: the 2.0T Quattro and the 1.8t with front wheel drive. The Quattro model didn’t see a lot of people spec the sport package, but a fair amount. And why not? iIt became a GTI in sedan form with awd and 10 extra hp. If I had to guess based on my internet shopping, 5-8% added…
I have been wanting to replace my turbo beetle with something that offers 2 of 3 of the following:
GMPorschenut wins the Oppo of the day award.
Anyone have any solutions for me?
As many of you may recall; I’m contemplating replacing my beetle with something more practical and automatic. A car I forgot existed until tonight popped back into my head.
I swung by a dealer on my way to REI for shotgun style Christmas shopping(buying for numerous people in various parts of the store). They had a 2014 VW Jetta GLI on the lot. I’ve been trying to find the right car to compliment my 996 lately: carry 4-5 people, a roof rack when needed, and preferably an automatic so my…
I’ve been shopping for a Turbo Beetle replacement. I want an entertaining automatic(my wife has no interest in learning manual and as long as my 996 is manual, I’d be fine with a good auto for the other car), a little more space, something that can have a roof rack, and preferably 4 doors. I don’t want to spend too …
Has Audi ever sent over their dual clutch on a plebeian A4 or a6 model(non-S or RS) car to the U.S.A.? Wife is open to replacing the beetle with a bigger car/wagon(specifically mentioned an Audi) and I’d be open to getting an auto if I could bounce off the rev limiter if I please and get some quick shifts out of the…
Frustrated BMW owner goes to autozone, gets code, lists car on Craigslist. There is something about this that cracks me up:
First off, anyone have tips on what to look for on a 2009 328i x drive? There is one near me for $10.5k with 70,000 miles which seems pretty reasonable. Price seems high for the year but low for the miles. I think with a naturally aspirated 6, AWD, and a little more room and the ability to add a roof rack I would be a…
2 months ago I posted about a job I applied for in my organization, in the post I put a picture of a FoRS:
Tom answered a question about a couple of lease swap sites. I got curious and went to check them out. Low and behold this dealer appears to be all but begging people to take an ATS for 27 months at about 1/2 the cost of what Cadillac shows for leasing on their website:
Road and track did an article on cars that need performance versions. And although I agree with them; I also think some cars could use some stripped out base models. Here is there list:
