Dear Hugh Hefner, I’m Sorry I Snuck Into Your House
Author’s Note: This piece was written prior to the reprehensible and cowardly terrorist attack that took place during the overall abhorrent events in Charlottesville, VA. It is not intended as commentary on that event, it was not inspired by that event, it just a piece about some cars I enjoyed driving. If its…
This week, I made the decision to eventually get rid of my “ran when parked”‘94 altima (200k miles) while daily driving my ‘00 Mustang GT (also 200k miles) from Hawthorne to Universal City 5 days a week for the new job. It’s a social media editor position, and so far, I like it a lot. Problem is, I’m Spending 80 a…
I had always been a little unsure about the Subaru Impreza WRX/STI platform. It’s a very accomplished chassis: in addition to its massive success in motorsports there is a huge aftermarket filled with potential for high horsepower, ground-pounding beasts that can rip through and power out of corners unlike many other…
I was devastated. It was 4:30 PM and I was aboard a Virigin America flight sitting on the tarmac at Chicago O’Hare International Airport. About 2 minutes before departing I checked my email one last time before we were in the air. My heart stopped: the HR person I had been coordinating with broke the news that the…
In August my wife and I traveled to Los Angeles (well, Orange County, really) for my cousin’s wedding.
That weird looking word in the title allegedly means “air-cooled” in German. There was a gathering of many air-cooled Porsches in LA this morning. Jerry Seinfeld was there (sadly I didn’t see him myself). Here are some pics:

If you’re aware of #cupgang and #cupbangers (yes, that’s what they call their fans) then you’ll have some idea of just how bad this video is. For those of you unfamiliar with @cupgang, you’re in for a real treat.
I walked around Beverly Hills today. I took some pictures.
Since I’m working day shift, I’m not going to be able to make any of the Cars & Coffee type events. Any of you LA Opponauts know of anything automotive related happening after about 3pm today or tomorrow?
Yesterday I flew down to LA for work. Since I finished my meeting early, and had to wait until 3pm to check into the hotel, I took my free upgrade Chrysler 200 convertible out to The Snake.
Looks like I’m heading to LA to do some scouting for a work trip. I’ve never really been before (drove through on I-5 back in 2004 and landed at LAX while heading to Hawaii for work last year, but that’s it). I’m guessing I’ll have a couple hours in the downtown area actually working but then I’ll be free to roam…
I saw this beauty across from my apartment here in Los Angeles' Japantown Sawtelle neighborhood. I believe it's a 2000 Berlina, but I don't really know the cues to look for the distinguish it from a 1750 (I noticed these rims seem more common on the 2000s?).
So I'm sitting on the crapper at work and hear the faint, yet distinct saxophone solo in "The Heart Of Rock 'n' Roll" on the overhead speaker. I immediately start wondering what a road trip to all the places mentioned in the song would be like.
Good morning Oppo! Here are a couple pictures taken by a professional photographer of my A3 on this past weekend's Audi Club LA cruise up Highway 33 in Ojai, one of my favorite roads ever carved into a mountainside. Great times with great people as usual. I highly recommend the road if you're anywhere near the area.

If you are ever in Los Angeles, a must-see is the Petersen Automotive Museum. On a recent trip, I had the opportunity to spend some at the Petersen before returning to LAX to fly home. The Ford GT-40 Mk III you see above was part of a special "The World's Best Sports Coupes in the World" exhibit sponsored by Jaguar.
I spent a few days last week in Los Angeles. It has some crazy traffic, as most of you already know, but having a passable car makes it a little more bearable. My car this time was a 2014 Kia Soul in white, which turned out to be a blessing since it was averaging 100 degrees in Southern California. A white car makes…
