I enjoy using my hands. I don’t think they enjoy me. Once upon a time I was a mechanics apprentice and studying for an A.S. in Automotive Technology. The more I worked on cars, the more dexterity I acquired, but the opposite is also true.
Well, today didn’t start great. An elderly woman decided the left turn only lane wasn’t the one for her and came into my lane without looking/signaling, slammed into my Legacy, and pushed me into a curb.
Not surprisingly, no such test done on the F355. Surprisingly, I did find a pic of a real-life crash that ended similarly.
A semi tractor trailer traveling southbound on US-59 through Sugar Land, Texas somehow flipped over the guardrail of an overpass and fell on top of a Toyota Camry yesterday. There were no serious injuries to report, thus earning Toyota a customer FOR LIFE.
Just like I always suspected it would, the NJ turnpike finally got me. The most stereotypical Jersey guy in an F-250 changed lanes into me on the way home from work tonight. After we got pulled over, and I’d assessed the damage to my car, I went to go talk to him, and he insisted that I had rear-ended him while…
It happened last night returning home from work. Not entirely sure what happened, but I lost control of the car when it tried to fishtail and I tried to correct it; the car fishtailed worst as I over corrected it. It did a 180 spin and landed in a ditch; the force of the impact apparently turned the engine off.
So we flew to visit my parents in SC for Christmas. This was our first flight with 2 kids (one still an infant). When I landed I had a text from my mom saying “Rent a car right away when you land!” That was suspicious. It was also December 23rd at 11 o’clock at night at a 16 gate airport - Savannah/Hilton Head. So we…
•edit: TL;DR summary at bottom. It got longer than I expected (phrasing! Boom!).
In addition to capturing moments of road rage, an action cam mounted on a motorcycle rider’s helmet can occasionally record a straight-up miracle, as was the case with Matthew Murray who ended up plummeting 250-feet off a mountain road after a problem with his bike’s steering.
On Sunday, the Science Channel announced that it would not be airing a planned three-hour “Punkin Chunkin” special after an exploding air cannon injured two people, including a video producer who was hospitalized in critical condition.
Anyone have a carfax account to check some kijiji replacements?
And that is to plop every single car from MY2012 to MY2017 that is an IIHS and NHTSA top safety pick (either or), supercars from the same years, and some GT3 race cars from the same years onto a level crossing and have a train run through it. Dummies shall be placed inside every car, filling up all seats.
This past Sunday I visited a friend of mine an hour into a touristy town outside the city. On my way back I’d hit gridlock on the highway from tourists with boats, campers, nice cars and families.
There is an intersection in my town. It has many nicknames including “The Circle of Death” and “An example of our wasted tax dollars” as well as “The worst damn intersection in the area”. Back in 2011, my county spent $3.2 million dollars to change a normal intersection into a roundabout. And it failed miserably.
On a humid August night in 2013, I made a decision that every Jalop makes at some point. I decided to go out for a drive, particularly to blow off some steam. I returned home to my family a completely different human being, torn apart by my experience.
They're saying it's about "40 million bees" on the highway. NOPE!
Had some fun driving home last night in the blowing snow, but not as much fun as I bet THIS GUY had!
I was driving my mother-in-law's Honda CR-V yesterday and had to stop very suddenly (like full-on, let the ABS do its thing, stomp the pedal and hold on tight panic stop). The vehicle behind me didn't have such lightning reflexes ... and I got rear-ended. First thought: "Oh. Well, that sucks. Better get out of…
If you cause someone else to get in an accident with their car, but your car is untouched, you may go completely free. I know this now because some asshole made a left turn (at night, in the rain) in front of my daughter, who was going the speed limit and had a green light at that intersection. She swerved to miss him…
Today I got called out by the commentariat for making some 'brash' comments regarding the accident that occurred between Stewart and Ward. I was even accused of being an "armchair commenter". Which, if I'm not mistaken, is exactly what a jury, a judge and a lawyer are as well, once all facts are presented to them.…
