Tomytec has recently unveiled the Tomica Limited Vintage releases scheduled for February 2019.
The 911 Carrera RS 2.7, particularly this Tomica Premium casting, is probably an oft featured model here at LaLD. And holding the model in hand, I realize that I should not really be surprised. I mean, this is such a beautiful car. And Tomica Premium has done such a great job with it.
The Testarossa is still backordered. But finally these two showed up today.
One thing I simply love about LaLD is the sharing of the fun we have. After a little cleaning over the weekend, I stumbled upon this very memorable piece of my childhood. And what could be better than sharing the fun with you guys?
Back in the day, most 3-inch diecast companies had a crane truck or two in the lineup. Working features in these small trucks were a lot more common. This here is the first crane truck from Tomica: 72-1, the Nissan Diesel UNIC Truck Crane, introduced in 1973.

It’s been a while since I posted the sequel on my travelogue so here is the finale. Let’s check this Jeep lookalike vehicle called the Jeepney which is originally based on a customized version of the WW2 military jeep.
Found the Chevy at Target. I hadn’t seen it on the pegs before but it won me over in person. I also saw the Econoline but just couldn’t convince myself to do it. Just.. no.

This iHWEP was months in the making between Xin and I. We began with a chase trade - his Greenlight Mecum Auctions Mopar for my Auto World Ultra Red Lead Sled. From there, we started talking about what was readily available at stores where we live, and why not expand this to include items that were easy for each of us…

The last thing a diecast collector should do is visit eBay in the middle of night. It’s simply too tempting. Saw this in a case and just had to get it.

Just a few Tomica! The Hino Profia tow truck is pretty decent, but the little dummy Prelude it comes with is very small. It looks better next to the 1/64 TownAce.
