Nintendo Switch's posts - English uPOST

Sometimes you have to go to extreme measures to hang out with the popular crowd. As seen on the Switch’s eshop today.

Battle Princess Madelyn is a Ghouls ‘n’ Ghosts-inspired action-platformer whose “honorary assistant creative director” is a 7-year-old girl. Madelyn Obritsch wanted to be in Ghouls ‘n’ Ghosts, so her dad, game designer Christopher Obritsch, decided to grant her wish—and involve her in the creative process. The…

Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime Has Some Games He’d Like To Sell You Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime Has Some Games He’d Like To Sell You

Reggie Fils-Aime is in hype mode. That is the main gear for the president of Nintendo of America the week before Black Friday as he sits in a 38th-floor Manhattan hotel suite full of Nintendo game and system boxes. “As we look forward to the next 45 days or so,” he says, “we’re excited that we have literally something…

Pokémon Let's Go! Eevee and Pikachu: The Kotaku Review Pokémon Let's Go! Eevee and Pikachu: The Kotaku Review

Pokémon Let’s Go! Pikachu and Eevee are going to be divisive. The games seem meant to introduce a new generation of players to Pokémon, especially players who started with Pokémon Go. The changes made to gameplay may frustrate longtime fans, including me; I started playing in the late ‘90s and kept up with the…

Kirby Fans Are Once Again Being Treated Like Royalty Kirby Fans Are Once Again Being Treated Like Royalty

Earlier this year, I foolishly thought Nintendo and the people at HAL Laboratory might allow 2018 to be something less than another luxurious year to be a Kirby fan. How wrong I was. Maybe some non-Kirby fans can find some hope in what’s gone down with Kirby these last few months, if it’s any indication of how other…

Kingdom Two Crowns, the sequel to the sidescrolling strategy/building game Kingdom New Lands, will be out on console and PC on December 11, publisher Raw Fury announced today. More surprisingly, the game’s medieval European campaign will be supplemented by a Japanese one, with more settings added post-release.

YouTube is now available on the Nintendo Switch, bringing the console’s total app count up to two. The only other app currently available on the platform is Hulu (which, thanks to Hulu’s live TV, I actually use a lot). This also means you can officially watch the next Nintendo Direct on Switch.

Some Switch Players Are Looking Outside Nintendo For Matchmaking Some Switch Players Are Looking Outside Nintendo For Matchmaking

Nintendo Switch Online went live over a month ago. While the paid service is required for people to play games like Mario Tennis Aces online together, it still doesn’t include any way for players to easily meet and connect with one another. As a result, fans have tried to fill that void with their own solutions, the…

Super Mario Odyssey Is Already Playable In An Emulator Super Mario Odyssey Is Already Playable In An Emulator

We tend to associate emulators as a means of playing old games from superseded systems, but the Yuzu emulator is different: it’s trying to run Nintendo Switch games on the PC, and it’s doing a very good job.

A Surreal Multiplayer Game About Sentient Cubes A Surreal Multiplayer Game About Sentient Cubes

Zarvot is two different games smashed together. One is a surrealist story about voxel-blasting cubes on a journey to bring their best bud a banana for their birthday. The other is a shooty, smashy multiplayer hell-fight simulator where chaos reigns. Both bring their own silly spin on their respective genres.

Who else will star in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, a game that’s already been announced to feature every previous Smash character along with a handful of newcomers? Transistor Sings On The Switch Transistor Sings On The Switch

I loved Transistor when I first played it on PC, but I struggled with some aspects of the game. The combat system, while interesting and creative, was sometimes tedious to control. On the Switch, the game feels more cohesive.

New Breath Of The Wild Glitch Turns Head Stomp Into High Speed Takeoff

Breath of the Wild players have always taken advantage of the game’s wonky physics, either in speedruns or for fun. It’s one thing to ride on stasis-launched trees, but it’s way more fun to shoot across Hyrule Field with a good head stomp. A new glitch allows just that, letting players gain tremendous speeds and blast…
