Carlos Gomez Smacks Mammoth Dinger

The Cleveland Indians, last seen ceding a 3-1 World Series lead to the Cubs, are back at it this evening and things are not going well thus far. Corey Kluber gave up a second-inning dinger to new horse owner Rougned Odor, then shortly afterwards, allowed Carlos Gomez to murder one of his pitches and send it to the upper deck.

According to Statcast, he destroyed it.

Padres Pitcher Travis Wood Crushes Second-Deck Home Run

Travis Wood’s night, for the most part, was bad. He was pulled after pitching to four batters but recording zero outs in the third inning, ultimately tagged with six earned runs off seven hits. Bad night for him! Just not an unusual one, at least not this season, as his 5.47 ERA and career-worst strikeout and walk rates can attest.

Here was the unusual part of Wood’s night, which was...

Outrageously Engaging

The XF must have seen my posts stating I would replace it with an XJL-SS (or even Stinger) because it stepped up its game tremendously! The driving has become sharper than a toothbrush in a prison riot and the performance is equally engaging. I’d know, I am a Libra.

The XF has always been a legitimate sports sedan but it pretends to be a luxury sedan first and that throws off initial...

This normally-$110 backpack is just $80 today. I would tell you more, but its Amazon product description would do a better job:

Winter mode is almost ready

Eventually I will post progression pics but this is a 50$ wheel, painted and prepped for winter duty. It still needs the ST decal for the yellow but, but this is roughly what my new winter wheels look like. I patched up most of the rashes and the wheels look pretty good at ten feet. I’m excited for winter mode, I think these will look quite good on the FoST

Riding A Rock Through Geologic Processes Explores The Rock Cycle

Rolling dice is an excellent way to emphasize that the rock cycle is deceptively named. Equally importantly, what felt like a failed lesson in volcanoes to me was not noticably catastrophic for my students.

For this ongoing experiment in education, I'm testing out running an active learning classroom for a university introductory geology course. After the introductory week in setting tone,...

Progressive words from one of hip hop’s most famous figures: Jay-Z wants to change America’s broken system of criminal justice. The entertainment mogul penned a New York Times Op-ed demanding real justice for Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill, who was recently sentenced to jail in a case many see as unjust, mostly because it is . Jay’s words went beyond Mill and established a harsh critique of...
