Dirtcast Talks the True Crime Boomlet with 'Night Call' Podcast Host Molly Lambert

In 2014, Sarah Koenig and This American Life brought the trial of Adnan Syed and “Serial” to the homes of listeners everywhere, kickstarting the true crime boom from which the culture has yet to extricate itself.

To help figure out what is so appealing about content about grisly murders and serial killers, we got writer and podcaster Molly Lambert on the phone to discuss the culture’s fascination with serial killers, true crime, dead women, and whether or not we are scared to walk down a street at night alone, for fear of being murdered by a stranger.

DirtCast can be found on Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify, Google Play, NPR One, and iHeart Media.

Mandana Mofidi is our Executive Director of Audio. Our theme music is by Stuart Wood. This episode was mixed by Corey Schreppel.
