John Scott Nhl All-star Game Nhl Hockey All-star Arizona Coyotes

A few weeks ago, we told you about John Scott’s unlikely lead in NHL all-star fan voting. Despite being a fairly anonymous dude, and getting cut by the Coyotes a few times this year, Scott held onto his lead and has officially been voted into the game, and will start as one of the four captains, along with Jaromir Jagr, Patrick Kane, and Alex Ovechkin.

Scott won the vote despite pleading with fans not to vote for him anymore. His entry into the game is reminiscent of the 1993 NBA three-point contest, when Craig Hodges got to defend his title, even though he wasn’t in the NBA anymore.

He probably won’t get cut again now, but if he does, it’ll be pretty funny to watch him in a blank-ish, generic NHL kit.
